Low-Threshold Services
The goal of the service is to reach and support as many individuals struggling with addiction and their immediate environment as possible, to reduce substance use and its associated harms, and to initiate and facilitate change.
Reducing Health Risks:
- Facilitating access to HIV/syphilis and HCV health screenings, encouraging participation, and referring individuals for further treatment if necessary.
- Preventing life-threatening situations, promoting lifestyle changes, and providing sufficient and quality information.
- Harm reduction measures, including access to vitamins, mineral water, and tea.
- Providing sterile equipment.
- Collecting used equipment and ensuring its safe storage, transport, and disposal (primarily in Budapest’s 7th district and surrounding areas).
- Organizing access to medical care and health screenings.
Outreach Activities:
- Identifying and reaching individuals affected by addiction or at high risk.
- Providing services and accurate information to them.
Information Services:
- Collecting, organizing, and making accessible information related to addiction and abstinence.
- Providing information about addiction, its possible consequences, the healing and support process, necessary steps, and expected recovery effects.
- Offering internet access and computer use.
- Providing daily and weekly newspapers.
- Legal aid services.
- Assisting with employment opportunities through information sharing.
Drop-In Services:
- Offering a place for both active substance users and those in early recovery to rest and sober up, available during opening hours without requirements, expectations, therapy agreements, fees, insurance, or the need to disclose their identity.
- Walk-in clients receive supportive conversations and information about available services.
- Addressing immediate issues and concerns.
